So Much

I can't believe it's been 3 weeks since I wrote in this journal….

I did my very first craft fair a couple of weekends ago and I am quite proud of how it turned out.    I even made a little money selling my papercrafted jewelry, which was really exciting.  But it was just nice to be there…to have people stop by my table and say nice things about the stuff I have been working so hard on and that I really enjoy making and wearing.

It took me quite awhile (we're talking YEARS!) to finally admit to myself that being creative is where I am the happiest.   I have a bachelor's degree in business….yet I hated the politics of corporate america and working in a cubicle.  I am a licensed esthetician and nail tech, but I spent just a short time in the beauty industry before having the twins.  I thought I would go back to work after the girls, but I couldn't do it.  I've been lucky enough that my husband's income has allowed me to be a stay-at-home-mom these last 3 years.  But with the girls starting pre-school this fall, I knew it was time for me to do what was really in my heart…and if it meant making a little money along the way too, even better!

My next and final craft fair of 2010 is on Saturday and while I'm looking forward to it, I'm also ready to get back to working at a less frantic pace.  I love, love, LOVE being on the Club Ruby Design Team and I can't wait to show you what I've been up to with the JAM-PACKED November kit!

See you again soon!!

  • Congratulations on your first show! What could be better than making some money with something you love doing :D.

I always get interrupted (at home) when I am about to leave a comment on your hairclips post on your blog, so I'll take the time now to say how much those clips look like boomer and how adorable he is :D. TFS!

  • Hey Britten,

So glad things are going well for you. Crafting and selling your creations, how fabulous! I did this once upon a time when I had lots of extra time. It would be wonderful to do that again. Only a few more years!!
