Oh it has been an eventful 5 days here in southwestern Pennsylvania…
It's cold. Snowy. And we haven't seen the sun once since we've been here. I spent the majority of my life here before moving to Florida, so you would think I wouldn't be surprised by the weather. But shoot….it's COLD.
I forgot how hard it was to Christmas shop in this weather. It's too warm in the stores to keep on the big coat that you gotta wear to get from the car to the mall, so you take it off and lug it around and hope your hat, gloves and scarf don't fall out somewhere. Add to it the cold weather accessories of two 3-year olds and you literally start re-thinking Christmas presents. (It's way easier to carry a bag with a nice tree ornament than a heavy sweater!)
I honestly don't remember a trip since the girls were born where we didn't visit a doctor. This time it was for ear infections. They are on meds now and should start to feel better soon…hopefully before Christmas. They keep asking to go outside. My poor Florida girls really don't understand the concept of it being too cold to play outdoors.
My husband - also a Pennsylvania native - got to go to the Steeler game on Sunday with his cousin. In an attempt to keep warm while tailgating, he positioned himself a little too close to some still-hot embers on the asphalt and caught himself on fire. He had on so many layers that he did not know his pants were on fire until his cousin pointed it out. Hubby is fine, though his Levi's and the $140 hunting boots that he borrowed from my dad did not survive.
Ohhh….I miss the sunshine!

Hugs to you Britten! My body could not take that cold weather! It is kind of chilly down here in sunny FL too! But, not that cold!
Oh no!! We are supposed to head to Pennsylvania right after Christmas and I was worried about the snow.....until today when the doctor tested my DS for whooping cough!! Why to these bugs fly in with the cold weather?!?! Why?!? Hope the ear infection clears up soon!!
Following up to say I'm jealous your hubby got to go to the Steeler's game, even if he did catch fire. I hope he wasn't too upset the Jets won!
WOW! I hope that things start turning around for you this winter season!
