Envision if you will, a distraught round middle-aged woman running out into the rain and falling to her knees with a broken gypsy clasped in her hands… dagnabit ! lol
Yep, my gypsy port thingie broke and fell in the gypsy when I tried to attach it to my Expression. I did buy the extended warranty from HSN, but it takes time apparently for these things to get fixed. Did I mention it just happened 30 minutes ago and I'm starting to shake? I might have to use one of my paper bags from the Sassafras Lass kit to breath into (procrastination has it's benefits).
On the plus side, I do have Cricut A to Z to I can do some old skool rockin of the E. I also have Design Studio, but I just installed Funtime on this computer. OK, maybe this is a sign I should start working with my Gazelle I bought with my Above Rubies coupon back in June? And it's not like I don't have any rubber stamps . . . but I *want* my Gypsy lol.

so your carts on are on your Gypsy and you can still plug them into your expression? I heard that once you "installed" your carts onto the gypsy they were quote "disabled" that was a main reason why I never went with the Gypsy, Because what if it ever broke or got lost.
Loading the carts on the Gypsy will only prevents them from being loaded on another Gypsy with a different serial number. I still have all the carts available to use (except Gypsy Wanderings and Gypsy Font). I just have to plug them into my Jukebox or Expression.
With the Gypsy, I don't have to carry around all my carts and I can design away from the Cricut and weld and hide contours.
I can think of only one solution to this horrendous problem...chocolate, a cup of tea, and buy something! Living in Seattle rain never stops anything. So get out there girl and push yourself to LIVE through this tragedy.

The carts can still be used in the machine, but they can't be installed to a Gypsy with a different serial number. I just got off the phone with customer service at provocraft and since I bought the extended warranty they will exchange my broken Gypsy with another one that they will put my old serial number on. That way I can load all the carts (121) on the new machine (with the old serial number).
I've been working on a birthday card. Thank heavens for Cricut A to Z lol. I had to dig through a few boxes to find Create A Critter. The Gypsy is like having all your cartridges in your hand at once only it really fits in your hand lol.
The good news is it's fixable. You will get a new one and Provocraft will put the serial number from your old Gypsy to your new one so you can load all your carts.....makes you want to have two of em... doesn't it :D. Good luck!! I agree with the chocolate and shopping to help!! :D
I wish I could have 2 of them. I feel so out of sorts. I really do have a lot to do, but in between each thing "My Gypsy is broken!" pops into my head lol. I feel like I need a 12-step program. I can't eat chocolate often (diabetic) and I can't buy anything (budget), but I will make myself some tea! And tonight we're going to watch The Ghost and Mr. Chicken.
Oh good movie! Enjoy!!
