Best Friends

Color me gobsmacked! I just found my one of my best friends from high school and another from college on facebook yesterday.

That might sound really odd to most of you. I should tell you, my father was drafted when I was 10. And since the military paid for his hobby of moving and remodeling, he stayed for a while lol. And when I found out we were going to move my senior year, I opted to go to a down-to-earth boarding school. So there is no “home town” with a parental network for me to rely on for information. The school is a source for some things, but only if people participate. I missed my 30th high school reunion because it was in the middle of my teenager’s sporting event season. I started realllly late btw, my friend from high school has 6.5 grandchildren.

I went to college in California, interviewed over the phone for a job in New York and moved lol. I’ve moved 31 times, lived in 8 states and 2 countries. I’ve lost touch with a lot of people lol. My daughter has moved 4 times, but three of the moves have been in the same town.

I haven’t seen my best friend from high school since the day after her wedding 33 years ago tomorrow. She lived in Oregon, I lived in California, then she moved, then I moved… then 33 years are gone lol. Since today is her wedding anniversary, I think I’ll try to make them an annversary card and post it on her facebook wall :D.

I also need to make a card for my best friend of the last 10 years whose birthday it is today. So there is it, my best friend trifecta :D.
